This course equipped me with many wonderful ideas to implement in my classroom and our school clubs. The class also offered fresh ideas on how to bring together business/marketing classes with the academic (English, math, etc...) subjects. "I had the wonderful opportunity to student teach with Karen Stark at Dakota Ridge High School. One of the classes she taught was MBA Enterprises. This class was awesome! The students not only ran the school store, but they had other successful businesses running throughout the school. In 2006, I took over the Business and Marketing program at DRHS. Teaching the MBA class was fun, however it was not as successful as it had been in past years. I took the MBA Get Real!!! class to help get a better understanding of laying the foundation for the class and to get an overall master plan for setting up the business(es) for my students. The class far exceeded my expectations. We had one-on-one discussions with the instructors, Karen Stark and Gloria Henderson that were full of ideas based on their years of service. I'm incorporating almost every page of the text I received this semester! My students love the program and we are looking forward to a better return on our investment in the student run businesses because of the techniques from MBA: Get Real!!!"
