Workshops
EDUCATION: GET REAL!!! (EGR) authors conduct workshops on how to use and implement their personally-developed teaching materials. The materials these experienced authors present have been utilized and refined over many years of classroom instruction. The workshop participants are typically a mix of educators, administrators, and other staff members. EGR instructors share their expertise/strategies/tips with other teachers in order to better prepare today's students for college and the "Real World."
Secondary/Post-Secondary Professional Development opportunities (1 or 2 day sessions) are designed specifically to meet the requests and requirements of school districts/BOCES. Instructors customize their presentations for the audience: teachers, parent support groups, business community functions, etc.
EDUCATION: GET REAL!!! has utilized numerous venues for our workshops to engage participants in dynamic "Real World" simulations. These simulations are designed to empower the teacher to help their students develop and reinforce the 21st Century Skills of networking, communication, accountability, leadership, decision-making, teamwork, negotiation, and consensus. EGR workshop sessions have been presented to educators across the U.S. during national conferences: FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), NBEA (National Business Education Association), ACTE (National Association of Career & Technical Education), and CLAS (Colorado Language Arts Society). Other workshop presentations have been conducted at school district/BOCES locations. Re-certification or in-service credit may be an option.
Some of the topics we have presented include:
